Cars with a factory head unit that has wired Apple CarPlay. Plug an iPhone into the car's USB port: if CarPlay appears, that port is where the box goes. Not for wireless-only CarPlay cars, and not for cars without CarPlay such as Tesla and Rivian.
Why it matters
The car is the easiest of five checks; the port, its power, the phone and the radio type are where boxes actually fail.

Does it work with aftermarket radios?
Usually, if the radio has wired CarPlay; message us with the brand first.
Does it work in a Tesla?
No; Tesla has no CarPlay port.
