Does the Hyundai Accent Have Apple CarPlay?

Yes. Apple lists the Hyundai Accent as a CarPlay-compatible vehicle for model years 2019 to 2025, on its official list of available models (checked September 15, 2026). Two things that list does not tell you: whether CarPlay is standard or optional on your trim, and whether it is wired or wireless. Both take a minute to check, and both matter if you are adding an accessory.

Hyundai Accent CarPlay by model year

Apple lists the Accent by year range, so the year of your car is the first thing to check. A 2018 Hyundai Accent is not on the list; the Accent first appears for 2019. Hyundai models start appearing on Apple's list in 2015, so the Accent is not the earliest; 14 Hyundai models appear before it. Apple's list runs to 2025 for the Accent as of September 15, 2026; a 2026 car is not on it yet.

  • 2016 Hyundai Accent: not on Apple's list
  • 2017 Hyundai Accent: not on Apple's list
  • 2018 Hyundai Accent: not on Apple's list
  • 2019 Hyundai Accent: on Apple's list
  • 2020 Hyundai Accent: on Apple's list
  • 2021 Hyundai Accent: on Apple's list
  • 2022 Hyundai Accent: on Apple's list
  • 2023 Hyundai Accent: on Apple's list
  • 2024 Hyundai Accent: on Apple's list
  • 2025 Hyundai Accent: on Apple's list

"Not on Apple's list" is not the same as "cannot have CarPlay": a dealer software update or an aftermarket head unit can add it to an older car, and Apple's list would not show that. It means only that Apple does not list a factory CarPlay option for the Accent in that year.

What Apple's list says, and what it does not

Apple's own footnote is the caveat that applies here: CarPlay "is either standard or available as an option," and "some models may support CarPlay or car keys only in certain configurations." So a 2019 Hyundai Accent in a base trim may have been sold without it, and a later one may have it on every trim. The list does not distinguish wired from wireless CarPlay at all.

The one-minute check

Plug an iPhone into the car's USB port with a cable. If CarPlay appears on the screen, the car has wired CarPlay and that port is the data port. If the car connects your phone without a cable and there is no port that launches CarPlay when plugged in, the car has wireless-only CarPlay. If nothing appears either way, that particular car does not have CarPlay, whatever the list says about the model.

Why wired or wireless matters

Accessories that plug into CarPlay, such as a wireless CarPlay adapter, an AI Box that adds Android apps to the screen, or a back-seat camera that shows on the screen, all use the wired CarPlay port. A Hyundai Accent with wired CarPlay can take them; one with wireless-only CarPlay cannot, because there is no port for them to plug into. The 5-point compatibility checklist covers the rest of what to check before buying one, and an adapter or an AI Box comes down to how often you sit parked with the screen on.

Questions we get

Does the 2018 Hyundai Accent have CarPlay?

Not according to Apple's list, which starts the Accent at 2019. A 2018 car may have had it added by a dealer update or an aftermarket unit; the plug test tells you.

Does the 2019 Hyundai Accent have CarPlay?

2019 is the first model year Apple lists for the Accent. Whether it is on your car depends on trim, so check the specific car with the plug test.

What year did the Hyundai Accent get CarPlay?

2019, as far as Apple’s list goes: that is the first model year it lists for the Accent. It was one of 2 Hyundai models to appear that year; every car that joined the list in 2019 is on one page.

Is CarPlay standard on the Hyundai Accent?

Apple's list does not say; it depends on the year and trim, so check the specific car with the plug test.

Does the Hyundai Accent have wireless CarPlay?

Apple's list does not distinguish wired from wireless, and whether a given year or trim has wired, wireless, or both is not something the list records. The only reliable answer for a specific car is the plug test: if a cable launches CarPlay, it has wired; if the phone connects with no cable and no port launches it, it is wireless-only. Some cars have both.

Does the Hyundai Accent have Android Auto?

Google’s Android Auto compatibility page works by brand, not by model: it lists Hyundai as "Models from 2015+" (checked September 21, 2026). Whether a particular Accent has it depends on the year and trim, the same as CarPlay; an Android phone on a cable is the same one-minute test.

Will a CarPlay AI Box or back-seat camera work in a Hyundai Accent?

If the car has wired CarPlay, yes; if it has wireless-only CarPlay, no. Run the plug test first.
